Just like with comics, Bear, I don't understand my own mind either. I guess a cartoonist is compelled to cartoon!

So true! I make a point of looking at the art. Otherwise, everyone could just draw stick figures.

Hiya, Paddy-O-Table, I've been thinking that adding some T and A would help to get people to look longer at the art.

Tomatoes and artichokes...interesting concept. Once used by the 'Silence of the Lamps' cartoon before the unfortunate incident.

Francis, it depends on the strip. If the strip is poorly drawn, the reader spends more time on the words. If the strip is well-drawn, the reader spends more time on the picture. For example, you might look at a science-fiction series like Mindfold and let us know where you put the bulk of your attention -- on the pictures, or the words.

In the case of your comic, Wargyrl, I definitely DO spend more time looking at the drawings.

As far as Drawing/Picture attention balance, what is your opinion of Tintin?

I'd give my left AND right kidney for more Francis cartoons. Though it would mean my swift death ....at least I'd die laughing....

I know what you mean, PaddyO, I'd give my left and right kidneys to make more Francis cartoons. It'd mean my swift death, but at least I'd die happy. I'm not going to stop though...it's just frustrating I can't make them on a regular schedule.
